Innovative ideas have always been abundant in Texas, but we haven’t always been adept at keeping them here. In the past, even though Texas’ institutions of higher education were creating some of the nation’s top cutting-edge research and technology, entrepreneurs seeking to put that research to work in the marketplace all too often had to leave for other states in pursuit of venture capital.
